Persimmon East Scotland has donated wood, nails and other supplies to DadsWork SCIO Men’s Shed from its Burgh Gate development on the edge of Musselburgh.

The Men’s Shed movement provides a space for members to make, repair and repurpose items while supporting local projects.

The initiative also aims to improve wellbeing, reduce loneliness and combat social isolation.

The donated materials will allow the men to create more designs and projects in their workshop.

Kevin Ferris, Persimmon East Scotland construction director, said: “We’re delighted to support the DadsWork SCIO Men’s Shed with this donation.

“Men’s Sheds do incredible work in bringing people together, fostering creativity and improving wellbeing in local communities.

“It’s great to know that materials from our Burgh Gate development will be put to such good use.”

The activities help tackle mental health issues by providing a supportive environment.
