We were approached by a fourth-year BA (Hons) Film student at Edinburgh Napier University, asking for some help m as king props for their movie.
Last night out guys who constructed a huge fish gutting trough, fish boxes and stools were invited to the movie premiere of Guttin’ Quines as a thank you for their hard work.
The movie was wonderful and the kindness from Alana and Duncan was amazing to our guys and further props. Our guys were credited on the movie credits as Prop Masters, a name now to live up to.
The film, Guttin’ Quines, is set in a fishing village on the East Coast of Scotland in the 1920s. Jeannie, daughter of a farming family and more recently the wife of a fisherman, takes up fish gutting work at her local harbour in an attempt to find a community in her small town and fill her days whilst her husband is at sea. However, it doesn’t go as smoothly as Jeannie would hope, finding it difficult to befriend the women and finding the work even harder. The days go on, the conflicts grow and then news begins to spread of a missing fishing boat.
