Week 4 of our Free Summer Activity Programme 2024 saw our friends at The Sorted Project and in particular a huge thank you to Karen, Michelle and Captain Dan who were just wonderful in organising these 2 trips and for making our families very welcome on board. They just created us like royalty. Captain Dan was amazing with our children, answering all questions and teach them to steer the Panacea. This was an amazingly chilled relaxing sail along the Union Canal from Fountain Bridge Basin to Longstone and back including a trip to Harrison Park for swings and football. We also had refreshments, arts and crafts and a bubble machine. This outing we saw wonderful wildlife including a fox, it was brilliant seeing Edinburgh level with the water and seeing people go about their daily business. A highlight was tooting the barge horn and seeing others on the water paddle boarding, canoeing and kayaking. An additional bonus was seeing the amazingly beautiful Leamington Lift Bridge in action. This beautiful 16.4, 60ft barge, the Panacea is just wonderful as The Sorted Project and their staff .
